Dinos advance after sweep of Pronghorns

I t wasn't perfect, but the University of Calgary Dinos men's basketball team will take it.

In the end, Calgary's two straight victories over the visiting University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on the weekend were all that counted to advance to the Canada West Final Four.

Saturday night's 87-79 win at the Jack Simpson Gym put the finishing touches on the best-of-three conference quarter-final series and knocked the fifth-seeded Pronghorns (10-10) out of the first round of Canadian Interuniversity Sport showdowns.

"We were able to basically out-score them," said Dinos head coach Dan Vanhooren, whose club finished the regular season in first place in the Canada West at 15-5. "We didn't play as well defensively. We got beat on the glass (40-36 in rebounds) and that's pretty disappointing for us, we're a pretty big team.
