Coach K in reach of wins record

Steve Konchalski is approaching a Canadian university men's basketball record many thought might be out of reach.The St. Francis Xavier X-Men head coach, now in his 35th season with the team, has 732 career victories. Jerry Hemmings, now retired, had 734 wins in 28 seasons with the Brandon Bobcats.



The record includes regular season, playoff and non-conference games.

Steve Konchalski will have to wait until at least next Sunday to equal Jerry Hemmings for the all-time lead in CIS men's basketball coaching wins.
