NBL's Oshawa Power Acquire Canadian Household Denham Brown

The Oshawa Power of the fledgling National Basketball League have signed Canadian national team member Denham Brown.

The six-foot-five shooting guard from Toronto played at the recent FIBA Americas Championship in Argentina, averaging 6.6 points per game as Canada failed to advance at the Olympic qualifying event.

Brown played at the University of Connecticut and won an NCAA Championship as a sophomore with legendary coach Jim Calhoun.

"For many years Denham has been a role model to younger players around the country," Power president of basketball operation Gary Durrant said in a release Tuesday. "Denham will provide leadership and experience to our team and be a great example for youth in our community."
