Considering that Nigeria beat both the number four and five teams in the world before dismissing the team from the Caribbean, there is no doubt that the rightful team along with Russia and Lithuania are going to the London Olympics.

Ike Diogu scored 25 points as Nigeria earned the final men’s basketball spot at the London Olympics with an 88-73 victory over the Dominican Republic on Sunday.

The Nigeria victory alongside Tunisia's automatic berth for winning the African Championships means that for the first in Olympic history their will be two African teams at the prestigious event.

Ironically both teams are placed in Group A wich features heavy weights United States, Argentina, Lithuania and France.

Group B consists of hosts Great Britain, Russia, Brazil, Australia, Spain and China.
