The Warden AKA Joel Anthony Believes Canada Can Orchestrate Its Own Success Story
Joel Anthony was out in Halifax paying some bills and showing off the shinny NBA trophy.
Anthony a member of the Miami Heat believes his country, Canada has any opportunity further develop and eventually writing a new chapter in Canadian basketball.
The talent is definitely growing and the amount of talented youth that are playing is really increasing. Everywhere you look there’s another blue-chipper from somewhere around the country.”
Anthony, who averaged 3.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 21 minutes per game in his fifth season with the Heat, thinks Miami — behind its star-studded trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh — could be on its way to something special.
He said there’s no reason the Canadian national team can’t orchestrate its own success story.
“We’re going through a rebuilding phase but it’s a really promising rebuilding phase. I definitely feel that Canada should be among the top teams in the world and we’re taking those steps now to be able to do that.”
