The UPEI Panthers just got tougher to play against.

The men’s basketball team announced Monday the addition of Brian Ofori, who played the past three seasons with Montreal’s Dawson College.

“He was a rebounding, defensive presence, a shot blocker,” said Panthers coach Tim Kendrick.

He expects the six-foot-five forward to fill the same type of role initially with UPEI but sees room for improvement and growth in his game.

“His upside is sky high,” Kendrick said. “His skills need improvement, but his physical athletic ability is off the chart.”

Kendrick said he could be an all-Canadian by the time he completes his five years in Charlottetown. He likes his work ethic, attitude and character.
