Former Saskatchewan Huskies Jamelle Barrett gets NBA tryout With HomeTown Sacramento Kings
Who says CIS Basketball isn't capable of earning players recognition.
Jamelle Barrett the 2011-12 BasketballBuzz CIS Men's Basketball player of the year has earned himself a NBA Tryout with his hometown team, the Sacramento Kings.
"It's very exciting considering I would have never thought I would have a chance, coming from the University of Saskatchewan, to do something like this," Barrett, a native of Rancho Cordova, Calif., said Sunday night during halftime of Game 3 in the NBA Finals.
Barrett, a two-time Canada West conference MVP, spent the last two seasons with the Saskatchewan Huskies. He is slated to work out for the Kings in the coming week.
