Canada Basketball exec Parrish to bring fair-funding message

The men does bring up some valid points:

"Is the CIS about high performance sport or something else," he asks. "I think it can serve both masters, the academic master and the high performance master but in order to do that we need to look at it differently. We need not be ashamed of the potential it has to be a positive business environment."

Parrish said research shows only 17 per cent of Sport Canada's core funding goes to team sports while a 47 per cent slice of the pie goes to individual sports. Yet numbers also show 24 million Canadians partake in team sports compared to 10 million in individual sports, according to Parrish.

Andy Rautins and Arinze Onuaku have shared a lot.
Both entered college five years ago as unheralded recruits. They've experienced the highs - Big East tournament title as freshman, regular-season champs this year. And the lows - back-to-back NIT berths, season-ending injuries.

And they experienced it all together.

Rautins and Onuaku shared one final Carrier Dome moment Tuesday night, as the fifth-year seniors didn't wilt under the heat of Senior Night, leading top-ranked Syracuse to an 85-66 victory over St. John's and the outright Big East title.
