Coming into the 2012 London Olympic Games we knew that the Canadian Senior Women's basketball team would have a change at advancing to the quarter finals.

Unfortunately after two tough defeats against Russia and today and another close one today against the suprise of the tournament France, has put Canada in a must win situation when it faces America Zone's qualifier Brazil in its next pool game.

Shona Thorburn once again lead team Canada with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Amongst the bright spots for Canada is 19-year-old Natalie Achonwa, the Canadian came of the bench and scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds in 23 productive minutes.

“For a 19-year-old, her focus is unbelievable,” said McNeill. “She just does not get out of the moment. She’s brilliant. Her understanding of the game is amazing.”

Both teams failed to register a single three-point basket with McNeill's troops going 0-11 from behind-the-arc and France misfiring on all of their five attempts.
