Shona Thorburn's Game-High 18 Points Keep Canada Alive in 2012 London Olympic Basketball
Canada evened their 2012 Olympic basketball record at 1-1 with a gutsy 68-63 victory over the hosts Great Britain.
Shona Thorburn (Hamilton, Ontario) poured in a game-high 18 points to lead the Canadians. Kim Smith and Courtnay Pilypaitis (Orleans, Ontario) also reached double-figures with 11 points.
Canada will look to move to 2-1 when they face undefeated France (2-0). The french are also coming off arguably the best victory pulling a shocking 74-70 over Australia.
Canada, ranked 11th in the world, plays No. 8 France Wednesday morning, No. 6 Brazil on Friday and No. 2 Australia on Sunday in the final game of the round-robin.
