Former number one overall pick Anthony Bennett (2013 NBA Draft) is on the move once again. Days after getting his walking papers from the NBA by the Brooklyn Nets, the once heralded UNLV star will head to Europe to sharpen his toolkit with Euroleague powerhouse Fenerbahce S.K – a team under the tutelage of general manager Maurizio Gherardini.

With NBA in the rearview and the Euro chapters waiting to written and the  familiarity Gherardini who has strong ties with Canadian Basketball and the Toronto Raptors the really winner here can be Bennett himself, who is know freed for the pressures of the NBA and Canada Basketball.

The EurLeague pace and structure including the use of FIBA rules should translate well into Bennett’s development and hopefully bpasting Canada’s 2020 Olympic dreams.

Former Raptors number one pick Andrea Bargani took his talent back to his European roots.
