Leonard Miller 39 points leads Fort Erie to 2022 OSBA Final 8 Championship game

Top Canadian prospect Leonard Miller scored an eye-popping 39 points to lead Fort Erie International Academy to the 2022 OSBA Final 8 Championship game.

The buzz around Leonard Miller is palpable, and for good reasons. The rising Canadian basketball prospect has seen his stock skyrocket and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The six-foot-eleven unicorn from Scarborough, Ontario has a rare combination of elite skills and natural attributes, unlike few we have seen at the Canadian high school/prep basketball level.

The 2022 Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Most Valuable Player (MVP) showcased his total package as more scouts poured in to the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre in Oshawa, Ontario to catch a glimpse of what could be Canada’s next potential impact NBA player.

In complete control from the opening whistle, Miller scored a dazzling 39-point double-double to lead Fort Erie International academy to a hard fought 89-79 semi-final win over a previously unbeaten Royal Crown Academy to advanced to the championship game on Sunday afternoon.

The undeclared forward scored the first ten points for Fort Erie on a perfect 3-of-3 start and two made three-pointers. When it was all said and done, Miller finished with efficient shooting numbers of 15-of-33 (45%) on field-goal attempts, 4-of-9 (44%) via three-pointers and a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul-line.

Leveraging his long wingspan and quick hands, he added four steals, multiple blocks and numerous deflections in 38 minutes.

Fort Erie International Academy, coached by Charles Hantoumakos, is a private boarding school located in Fort Erie, Ontario, about three hours west of Toronto. The Falcons soared high in their first year of OSBA competition with a 14-2 regular season record and earned a bye into the quarter-finals.

Standing in the way of their first OSBA championship is another newcomer to the league and an extremely talented United Scholastic Academy team that dispatched the Crestwood Lions to earn their rightfully deserved spot in the title game.

The two teams split the regular series, with Miller going off for 37 points and 18 rebounds in the win.
