A few things to consider about the 09-10 Toronto Raptors
Is Jay Triano the right coach?
I think we should give the Raptors coaching gig to…Leo Rautins? Is it the team’s roster that is weak or is it the coaching? I think its a combination of both, therefore the question valid.
What about the Point Guard spot?
Jose and Jack just ain’t doing it. Point guards around the league smile when they see ”Next Game: Toronto Raptors”. Calderon’s confidence has been shattered because Jarrett Jack took his, to the defence of Jack he can play better D than Calderon. Either way, i don’t think they that they are the solution to the problem.
Hedo Turkoglu? What real happened?
Personally, me thinks the Raptors are mis-using him. Maybe that’s the reason why hasn’t performed so well this year! Maybe it’s him eating Pizza Pizza late at night instead of watching game tape. Also it could be that Turkoglu’s best days are now behind him? He does have some mileage on him, this is his 9th year in the league. Either way he has been a HUGE disappointment all season long year, and had his opportunities when Chris Bosh was injuried. What do you do with him? Keep him or Trade him?
Andrea Bargnani?
I like the kids’ game, but, I mean, rebounding might not always win you a championship but it’s a key factor in winning you ball games. The Italiano should average a double-double.
Chris Bosh? What’s Next?
Hmm, he’s that dude! For most part of the season he’s been the player that the Raptors need him to be, night in, night out. No real complaints here. A strong finish to the season and a playoff birth is the exact position that I envisioned the Raptors when I saw them in training camp. The eastern conference is tougher this year, a lot of young teams on the come up.
Raptors dot.com is already taking down payments for playoff tickets. Will they make the playoffs? I would hope so, but then again the schedule is tough going down the stretch.
The Raptors remaining 12 games are evenly split (6 road games, 6 home games). Remaining games include dates with the Nuggets, @Heat, @Bobcats, Clippers, @76ers, Warriors, @Cavs, Celtics, @Hawks, Bulls, @Pistons, Knicks.
They will probably split those 12 games and finish with a record of 41-41 which should be enough to make the playoffs and hopefully keep Chris Bosh in the Tdot.
