New Toronto Raptor Cory Joseph takes his talents up North and back home

He’s always been the north.

Last night BasketballBuzz cover star Cory Joseph made it more than official as the Toronto Raptors signed the player that the San Antonio Spurs just made an unrestricted free agent.

The champion brings more than one ring with him to Canada’s sole sneaker sport team. The 23 year-old is great across the board, averaging 6.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per box-score. The 23 year old also shoots 50.4 percent from the field making him one of the more accurate in the game.

According to reports, Joseph looks to make 30 mill over the next four years under contract, but he has a player option on his fourth season. That should take the young Point Guard right through to his prime where he looks to lead this Toronto team alongside Kyle Lowry, forming a brilliant backcourt.

His years of backing up Tony Parker and being mentored by him for a winning organization based on flawless fundamentals and all basketball business will really gives these Raptors more bite. It’s a great pick-up off the clawed heals of the Lakers taking last years ‘Sixth Man Of The Year’ Lou Williams under their wing.

Cory tweeted a thank you to his former team who let his cap go in order to free up space to sign LaMarcus Aldridge, saying the team; “will always be close to my heart.” Although his hash-tag trend joining ‘We The North’ came with “here I come” from a tweet before. In other words of character this guy may leave some of his heart in San Antonio but he’s about to feel his soul in Canada.

The Spurs will miss his sneakers clicking in Texas however as Coach Pop’s boys look to in a few seasons move from the old trusted and traditional, winning big-three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker to the Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and new signing LaMarcus Aldridge.

Still as Duncan’s android like clone replacement joins a player like no other in LeBron’s marker match Leonard, it’s a shame for the Spurs that Parker won’t one day pass the sneaker strings to the guy who used to lace them up as he backed him up.

Cory Joseph’s breakout year and championship confidence make him a valuable asset for his new team, potentially turning him into a Toronto star. You read it here first! Soon, not even Chris Pratt will be able to tame these Raptors.

Up north and back home it’s Joseph’s world now!
