Canadian Freshman Syracuse Orange PG Tyler Ennis Declares For 2014 NBA Draft

Syracuse freshman Point Guard Tyler Ennis will forego his remaining three-seasons with the Orange and will enter the 2014 NBA Draft.

The 6-2 Canadian point guard from Brampton, Ontario had a sensational campaign leading the Orange to a 25-0 start while averaging 12.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

“I’d like to thank Coach Boeheim, the coaching staff, my teammates and the amazing fans of Syracuse for the opportunity to play at a great university like Syracuse,” said Ennis. “I feel this experience has helped prepare me to fulfill my lifelong dream – to play in the NBA.”

Ennis is expected to be a lottery pick (Top 10) and will most likely be among the top three point guards (Marcus Smart, Dante Exum (Australia) selected in the upcoming draft on Thursday June 26th 2014 in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Along with Ennis, and former AAU teammate Andrew Wiggins Canada is expected once again to add multiple players in this years NBA and could see up to four to five players (Melvin Ejim, Nik Stauskas) getting their names called by newly instated commissioner Adam Silver. No official word, and who will be Ennis’ agent.
