Disappointing ending for Tristan Thompson and 2011 Canadians in NCAA March Madness

Texas freshman forward Tristan Thompson had just three points in the Longhorns’ loss to Arizona. He played 36 minutes and had six rebounds and four blocks.

Thompson equaled his lowest scoring output of the season and was saddled with four fouls.

Out of the record 20 NCAA Canadian Basketball Players that participated in the 2011 March festivities only Junior Cadougan – Toronto (Marquette Golden Eagles) & Francis-Cedric Marter – Montreal (Richmond Spiders) stand and will participate in the sweet 16.

#11 Golden Eagles will take on #2 North Carolina Tar Heals while the Richmond Spiders will be in tough against #1 Kansas Jayhawks.

The Montreal native Francis-Cedric Marter scored a season high 12 points as the Spiders upset #5 Vanderbilt in their opening game.

Marter in his third year with the spiders is averaging 18 minutes and has been a solid contributor and should continue to see increased playing team next year.

Junior Cadougan in his second year with the Golden Eagles has solid experience an has been counted upon to finish games on many occasions. The Toronto native has seen a significant increase of floor time over the last six games and will be key if the Golden Eagles have aspirations of knocking off the Jayhawks.
