Illinois State Redbirds Scoop-Up Canadian PG Kaza Keane

Kaza Keane (Class 2012) a 6’2 Point Guard, 180 lbs from Christian Faith Center Academy via Toronto Canada has committed to the Illinois State Redbirds of Missouri Valley Conference.

Keane selected the Redbirds after taking an official visit to school on Monday.

“They have great facilities, great players and they needed a point guard. It’s just a great opportunity for me to be an impact player” said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound lead guard.

Keane is an underrated Canadian guard who boasted his stock by reclassifying to the class of 2013 and was also considering Georgia Tech and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Ajax, Ontario native has been named to the final 17 players that will attend Canada’s Junior National Team training camp, and has a strong probability of cracking a spot on the final 12 men roster of what is shaping-up to be a competitive Canadian Junior team looking to medal at the upcoming 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Brazil.
