Ospreys Sweep Lancers in Tough NCAA/CIS Exhibition Series

The North Florida Ospreys wrapped their two-game NCAA/CIS Exhibition Series against the Windsor Lancers with a 73-64 victory at the St. Denis Centre.

Parker Smith connected on three free-throws and Andy Smith found the basket for two easy layups as North Florida extended their lead to 68-61 with 2:25 left.

The run eventually closed out a well played and physical contest that was played with regular season intensity and featured 9 ties and 8 lead changes.

Windsor Lancers got strong performances from Enrico Di Loreto with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Jahmal McQueen grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with eight points and two block shots.

Andy Dias paced the Ospreys with 12 points and eleven rebounds. Travis Wallace also scored 12 points and David Jeune was big on the board with 11 rebounds and three steals.

Windsor scored the last nine points in the first half and trailed 31-30 at half-time. Head coach Chris Oliver opted for a 2-3 zone to start the second half and was rewarded with 38-35 lead with 15:53 to play.

UNF shot just 36.8% FG (25-68) while Windsor was slightly better at 38.3% (23-60). Both teams were poor from the charity stripe with North Florida shooting an atrocious 48.7% (19-39) making the Lancers 62.5% (10-16) look like gold.

Rebounding advantage went to UNF 57-36.

The Ospreys beat the Lancers the previous afternoon by a similar score, 75-63 to kick their Canadian Tour.
