Winnipeg Wesmen appoint Mike Raimbault as new head of mens basketball squad

Sources requesting anonymity have told the Brandon Sun that Mike Raimbault has been offered up to University of Winnipeg officials to be the Wesmen men’s basketball coach.

According to the report, Raimbault, 28, was one of two finalists for the job, the other being Grant Richter, who took over the Wesmen on an interim basis after Dave Crook resigned in January.

Raimbault led the Northern British Columbia Timberwolves to the Canadian college national championship in March and was named the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association coach of the year. The Brandonite also was interim coach for the Brandon Bobcats in 2007-08, steering the team to a 20-2 Canada West record.
