Jordan Brand Is ‘Team WNBA’ In Leagues 25th Anniversary

Michael Jordan’s new team leads the way in history and equality. This is more than the WNBA’s 25th anniversary. This is the future of this games legacy.

Jordan Brand is Team WNBA in leagues 25th anniversary

Jumpman. Jumpman. JumpWOMAN.

Ever since Michael Jordan took off from the free-throw line in those red, white and black Air Jordan’s. A pair so iconic that the league banned them and fined the GOAT, whilst the swoosh footed the bill. Nike haven’t looked down.

It seems MJ hasn’t come down either.

With more signature shoes than Milwaukee Buck PJ Tucker’s closet, Nike has provided Air time to ballplayers, golfers, NASCAR drivers and so many more. The iconic Jumpman logo has led the way since the time that iconic silhouette shot was taken in a Chicago playground back in the day. This icon arguably as legendary as the NBA logo (sorry Jerry), or even the original Nike one has no finish line either as they assembly of apparel rolls out.

Way before the image of Michael soaring above the Chi-town skyline appeared on these new Nike NBA jerseys it sponsored and held court on France’s own Paris St. German soccer team. Jordan’s likeness even headlines the stadium now like the Prince of the Parc tribute to the purple reign, of one of the greatest in the music game…and the hoops one if you believe the ‘Chappelle Show’, ‘True Hollywood Stories’ with the late, great Charlie Murphy.

Now Nike and their Jordan Brand are giving you what the WNBA calls the ‘Portrait Of A Powerful Family’ right after providing the association with a legendary line of new jerseys to net their 25th anniversary in the game.

Michael Jordan’s brand have added eight WNBA players to its legendary roster that includes the likes of NBA greats Carmelo Anthony and Ray Allen.

The Seattle Storm’s Jordin Canada, the Los Angeles Sparks’ Te’a Cooper and Arella Guirantes, Crystal Dangerfield and Aerial Powers of the Minnesota Lynx, the Dallas Wings’ Chelsea Dungee and Satou Sabally, Dearica Hamby of the Las Vegas Aces and Canada’s Kia Nurse of the Phoenix Mercury can now all call themselves Team Jordan as they posed for an iconic black and white photo looking as elegant as a Calvin Klein ad taken by Ming Smith with number 23 for this moment of history and legacy.

“The world needs female voices, and we can’t ignore that or else we’re not growing. The Jordan Brand is committed to giving women a platform to amplify their voices, which influence, inspire and push culture forward, ” Michael Jordan added to the press release on the day of the  anniversary of the leagues inaugural game. A statement which read all about it will go down as one of the GOAT’s greatest quotables.

This diverse group of young talent not only represents the future of this league and game, but sport as a whole too, going forward in equality and victory.

“These amazing athletes are defining a lot of things about Jordan Brand and leading a true conversation that’s impacting culture and our communities across the globe,” Mike also said, co-signing these next generation game changers

He knows a little about things of that nature.

“Representation really matters at this point in time,” another Jordin, Jordin Canada concurred. “To have eleven black women be a part of this brand allows the younger generation and younger women to see that they can be like us — they can have that opportunity. I didn’t see that growing up.”

It’s nothing but elevation for the next in line to this Jordan one and the young girls watching as they grow up with even bigger dreams that now seem more like reality.

After being associated with greatness for a quarter century, Women’s National Basketball as a whole shows no signs of coming down either.
