London Lightning Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson Suspended For Verbal Incident

Michael Ray Richardson, Head Coach of the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for a verbal incident that occurred in the Lightning’s 111-94 victory over the Halifax Rainmen on January 19th 2012 in London Ontario.

“The National Basketball League of Canada looks to establish and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and good sportsmanship both on and off the court,” league commissioner John Kennedy said Tuesday in a statement.

Richardson was also eject from a game earlier this season against the Quebec Kebs after his league leading Lightning failed to secure an important road victory.

The former NBAer with the Knicks and New Jersey nets will miss the Lightning upcoming game on February 5 against The Oshawa Power.
