The Carleton Ravens got hot in the fourth quarter and outscored the visiting Laurentian Voyageurs 30-17 on their way to a 87-66 OUA East Men’s Basketball Semi-Final victory and kick their 2012 “Road to the Final 8.”
The Voyageurs held no punches and came out swinging and trailed by single digits at 57-49 at the start of the final 10 minutes.
MVP Candidate Philip Scrubb treated the hometown Carleton Ravens to their last home game of the year with a tasty 23 points, 10 assists double-double to pace five Ravens players in double-figures.
Scrubb’s brother, Thomas got into the action by delivering 15 points and five rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
Laurentian’s Manny Pasquale, the leading scorer in the country, delivered an unconscious game-high 34 points on the country’s best defensive team by shooting 11-of-23 from the floor and nailing five deep three-pointers in the process.
The Ravens now advance to the 2012 OUA Final Four in Waterloo Ontario, where they will take on the #2 McMaster Marauders.
In the other Final match-up, the Lakehead Thunderwolves met the rising Ryerson Rams.
