NBA Basketball Heading To Disney World

Is this home court advantage for the Orlando Magic?

Following months of locked down quarantine after Adam Silver and the NBA led the way in shutting down sports and entertainment in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, Basketball is back.

Coming to an amusement park near you soon.

Yep, that’s right. The remainder of the NBA season will be played at Walt Disney World of all places for the NBA’s Florida project.

Now from LeBron James to Giannis Antetokounmpo, if some of your favourite NBA players want to wear face masks whilst playing to protect themselves from another Coronavirus outbreak, they could always use a Mickey Mouse or Daffy Duck one.

We may miss sports like we miss all kinds of entertainment, from concerts to cinemas, but everyone’s health is far more important.

NBA to return on July 31st

Still the NBA Board Of Governors have approved a July 31st restart to the season with a twist. One that a 29-1 vote of all teams except the Portland Trailblazers in the face of this pandemic agreed with.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic presents formidable challenges, we are hopeful of finishing the season in a safe and responsible manner based on strict protocols now being finalized with public health officials and medical experts,” Silver told press with his plan to have 22 of the leagues 30 teams play 8 seeding games before a 16-team playoff format continues your regular postseason programming format.

With a champion to be crowned no later than October 12th, it will almost be time for the new season (although that’s slated for December 1st) once this is all done, but we have to start (or end) somewhere…and what better place than Disneyland?

This will be the ride everyone will want to queue up for as they try and get a ticket for this theme park. Although it looks likely it will be closed for the season.

Lucky Minnie and Mickey on the Kiss Cam will probably get a seat though.

I’m sure I have a Donald the Duck Halloween costume lying around somewhere.
