New Wizards & Bucks Logos Spell A Steer In A New Direction

All change on the Eastern front.

After quite a season to say the least, two of the Eastern Conferences most promising teams are about to go into playoff battle with new badges.

Changing their crests, one of the East favourites, the Washington Wizards and surprises, the Milwaukee Bucks have new logos to proudly pop for the new, second season of this sport.

Washington arguably have the best jerseys in the NBA business with their red and white, candy striped, Bullets throwback like modern upgrade. Still as good as a look as they are, the logos have needed some redesign work to say the least. The Wizard ‘W’ that’s been here since the blue and white name change has looked a little too ‘Gandalf The Gaunt’ for too long now. Whilst the other DC hands to the basketball, wand change alternative logo looks a little dodgy if you give it a second look.

Now however they have the perfect crest for their classic courts centre circle. With the Washington monument in the middle of the teams name on the border, this logo looks so good it could represent the entire city, not just its basketball franchise. It’s kind of more than that however as the three stars that bring together this red, white and blue striped, proud capital clubs coat of arms represents the D.C. neighbours of Maryland and Virginia. This brings together all of the city of Washington’s neighbours in support of the local side led by John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Meanwhile bucking the recent trend of a deer in the headlights change of direction, Milwaukee have some new logos too. Three to be exact! A coveted circular one of their own joins a green map like, throwback one for a team about to move stadiums in a few years with the surprising move to playoff prominence this shorthanded season. When Jabari Parker comes back he and fellow young Buck Michael Carter-Williams are going to herd in a new future.

Now don’t talk to them about tanking!

Its all going to be coloured in green too like the big bucks these new owners are bringing in. No longer seeing red the Buccaneers have moved from an 8 point stag to an older 12 point one in a maturation of cream and bottle green. The whole set up is crisper than a Coach Kidd pass back in the day. These new symbols are the signs of a new big three. The old, classic look now belongs with Sam I Am, Jesus and Big Dog on the Bambi trophy, head on the wall hanging, history past of rafter royalty. It hasn’t looked this vintage classic since Oscar and Kareem suited up in the no name back jerseys.

Summers on the horizon and these logos would make the perfect t-shirt for you to rock and roll out this season. These Wisconsin and District Of Colombia teams just hope this good look will transfer onto the court from the centre circle too.

Time for these logos to really stand for something!
