If you’re reading this, it’s all too Drake!

The top Canadian M.C. is having quite the year. Releasing a surprise mixtape album to top off the 365 from the 305, beating Meek Mill in a rap beef last week and last night even bringing out Kanye West at the OVO Fest in his hometown Toronto. All this and we still haven’t even seen his ‘Views From The 6’ yet. Now it seems that Aubrey Graham will be riding through all this without his woes…unless he passes through Kentucky that is. Big Blue Nation with the cease and desist.

Last night was Drake night at the OVO, but as the rapper held on to the crowd as he went back home he brought something out even better than Yeezus himself. Something stronger than the weak, Meek beef. This ones going to bring everyone to the mill. Last night Drake unveiled the Toronto Raptors franchise he part owns new jerseys to a cheering crowd of baller and ball-club fans.

After being a part of the logo and colour redesign this year the Grammy rapper also was a part of this design process too. And these jerseys from a team whose last designs where as hot as their original ’96 expansion throwback, complete with the dribbling Dinosaur in Barney purple look and rock the part. It’s a whole new Jurassic World for these new skins now that pay homage to Canadian’s white and red as well as October’s Very Own black and silver.

Continuing the trend of those new black Raptor t-shirts released last season these new designs are grand. With so many teams using homage elements to their city in creation, these uniforms feature more than just Maple Leafs and cliche colours. Some upwards chevrons on the side point to the Raptors and the T-Dot (there’s some of that in short cursive too), Toronto mantra; ‘We Are The North’. Drake, clearly the border above the United States Of America is honouring his home too. Even rocking through the 6 with Cory Joseph’s number, the new free agent Raptor who was born and now resides again as a Canuck.

With seemingly every team in the association releasing a new range of uniforms this Summer-and all of them, aside from the Clippers being inspired innovations of look and feel-the Raptors may have just engineered the best. With new, classic home white and away red, they now have two black alternatives for the locker rooms and wardrobes. Even the mix and match Atlanta Hawk neons can’t outshine this. This is as outstanding an overhaul as the new instant vintage Milwaukee Buck look. And after all this at least those camo-Rap uniforms are now rendered extinct.

Making hoop headlines, now any night will feel like throwback night with these modern classics. You can thank Drake and the Raptors now. It’s over for the competition. Starting with a jersey and now they’re here for their own comeback season.
