Undrafted Texas Guard Myck Kabongo To Play With Miami Heat’s Summer League Team

Miami, Fl – (BasketballBuzz) – Toronto’s own Myck Kabongo had to endure an agonizing five hours, and two-rounds of straight name calling only to find out that his dream of reaching the NBA would’ve to take the unconventional route.

The 2013 NBA Draft came and went, sixty names were called out, but the words, Myck Kabongo didn’t get uttered, the closest we came to hearing his name was when the Dallas Mavericks selected Mike Muscala with the 46th pick in the second-round.

After the draft, the classy Congolese born player showed extreme class and resilience by tweeting:

Well Kabongo was right, less than 24 hours later it was announced that the speedy Texas Point Guard would join the Miami Heat’s summer league team.

As for competition and his changes of landing a contract? Who knows? But expect some stiff competition.

Marshall, played alongside #1 Pick Anthony Bennett at UNLV and averaged just shy of 11 points per game, 5.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds.

Ironically or coincidentally, Kabongo also tweeted the following after witnessing the Miami Heat win their second straight NBA championship.

Now that he has another change, its up to Kabongo to remind everybody why he was a 2010 McDonalds All-American and make his dream come true, and if it all works out, he will likely have the last laugh and just may very well experience the confetti and champagne with Lebron James & Co.

The Heat will open up the 2013 Summer League in Orlando on July 7th and will also be apart of the Las Vegas session from July 12-22.
