Welcome to the New BasketballBuzz.ca
It’s only fitting that we re-launch “Canada’s Basketball Magazine” on a historic and record-breaking night for Canadian Basketball, a night which would definitely make Dr. Naismith extremely proud!
With the addition of Andrew Wiggins, Nik Stauskas, Tyler Ennis and Dwight Powell into the NBA, Canadian Basketball has reached a point of no return. As one of the pioneer brands of the whole Canadian Basketball movement, this offered up the perfect and unique opportunity for us to finally tell and showcase our story and history.
Nearly twelve years ago, we laid out our vision, our plans and through our day-to-day activities we made it our mandate to be, “In Support of Canadian Basketball.”
Today we are extremely happy and proud of the rapid development and transformation of the Canadian Basketball industry. We are also ecstatic to have played a major roll in helping change the culture on how Canadian Basketball news, views and opinions were previously and currently accessed in print, digital and mobile.
Since the release of our first print publication in March 2005 when we introduced Canadians and the rest of the world to Dave Smart and the Carleton Ravens, showcased Chris Bosh on his first official magazine cover and predicted the “Nash Effect“, one thing remained clear; It was just a matter of time before the whole world knew about the great white North and it’s growing basketball culture.
It is no longer just the effect of one single individual putting Basketball in Canada at the top of our minds with players like Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph and Andrew Nicholson featured in the first issue of BasketballBuzz, it has been a collective approach and a burning desire of many Canadian parents, players, coaches, institutions, government and corporate players who eagerly anticipated and diligently worked for today’s historic Canadian basketball moment.
On that note, we would like to thank our loyal supporters who have believed in our vision throughout the years. For us as a brand, whose historic values have always been “In support of Canadian Basketball”, today’s NBA Draft reassures us that we have indeed reached a “New Era” of Canadian Basketball.
We invite you to enjoy our new website. It is a combination of your valued feedback and our continued commitment to continue to improve and bring quality editorial and journalism in print, digital, mobile and social platforms for Canadian basketball fans.
To Canada, Cheers!
We look forward to the next 100 years of Canadian Basketball.
