#7 Concordia Stingers 66 – #2 Carleton Ravens 73
The Carleton Ravens held the Concordia Stingers scoreless for the first 4 minutes of the fourth to take a 58-52 lead with 5:56 to play and held on for crucial 73-66 victory over the #7 Concordia Stingers.
Elliot Thompson the East coast (Fredericton, NB) native playing in front of family and friends refused to let his Ravens lose and was instrumental in the fourth quarter by hitting key outside jumpers, taking charges on the defensive end and icing the game from the foul line.
The game came down to the final minutes as Stingers full-court press bothered the Ravens by forcing the Ravens to use the entire shot clock. The Stingers got another great performance from their trio of players as Decee Krah was phenomenal from the outside and finished with a game high 21 points.
Tyson Hinz was consistent with his effort and lead the Ravens with 19 points as the Ravens avoided dropping back to back games for the first time this year. Rookie Forward Thomas Scrubb provided solid minutes of the pine and almost finished with a double-double.
The Ravens will battle the Huskies in a rematch of last years semi-final, “They beat us last year and they have a lot of great players this year, its going to be a great game” stated All-Canadian Tyson Hinz after being award the player of the game award.
