Chicago’s Candace Parker Is Heading Home

Candace Parker, a two-time WNBA champion, former MVP and reigning defensive player of the year is leaving Hollywood and taking her game back home to Chicago.

Chicagos Candace Parker Is Heading Home

Eras end, but homecomings are for queens.

13 years.

That’s how long two-time champion, former WNBA MVP and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Candace Parker has called Hollywood home.

But now changing clothes from the gold of the Sparks to the yellow Sky, one of WNBA’s best ever is really going home.

Back to her hometown of Chicago where it all began.

Sources say the most coveted free-agent on the WNBA market this off-season will join the legendary likes of Allie Quigley, Courtney Vandershoot and Diamonds DeShields as Chicago looks to return to the untouchable dynasty days of Delle Donne that charged like a 90’s Bull from the pen.

One of the most anticipated alignments in Chi-city is the C. Parker double of both Candace and Cheyenne Parker.

What a way to close out a legendary career for the 34-year-old former number one pick who averages 16.8 points and 8.6 rebounds for her career. The only player in WNBA history to win both MVP and Rookie Of The Year in the same season (2008).

But her jobs not done.

This was Los Angeles’ worst fear like their Laker brothers previous one of possibly losing Anthony Davis to his same hometown of Chicago during the 2020 NBA off-season. AD is safe as Hollywood houses now. Locked-up like Akon for a half decade like James.

Parker on the other hand leaves the Ogwumike sisters (in other news core designation Nneka had re-signed for multiple years), legend Seimone Augustus, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes and the re-upped T’ea Cooper under Coach Derek Fisher. This is still a strong team worth more than the rubble of their first-round exit in the Wubble, but losing their genius player smarts and hurts like hell. And that’s the tea.

Parker is a Los Angeles legacy making legend like the WNBA’s first superstar in Lisa Leslie who she partnered up with like Duncan and Robinson in the dawn of her career and Leslie’s twilight. A purple and gold great like Magic and Kobe, this city will never forget what Chicago’s very own did for them out on the West Coast.

The city thanks her.

But now changing like the wind to the town of that same weather, after 13 seasons lucky for Chicago, the Sky is the limit.

It’s not looked this bright for a long time.
