One of the craftiest finishers in the game, Canadian point guard Jamal Murray has used his signature midair ‘spin cycle’ move to deliver some memorable highlights that will one day be relived during his rafter hanging, retiring ceremony at Ball arena.
For now, the 23-year-old native of Kitchener, Ontario, is focused on leading the Denver Nuggets to the peak of the Rocky Mountains as they aim to top the Western Conference and make their first-ever NBA Finals.
Ahead of game two of their best-of-seven NBA Playoffs Western Conference semi-final series against the Phoenix Suns, New Balance and Murray have released a custom version of their successful TWO WXY V3 series, dubbed as the “Spin Cycle.”
The “Spin Cycle” move has become a staple in Murray’s ever-growing bag of tricks, where he is known to utilize his leaping ability to spin and finish in the air, leaving his opponents dazed, confused, and wrung out like a laundry cycle.
Inspired by Murray’s signature move, the TWO WXY V3 shoe showcases a fresh white upper with blue and green accents. Its custom design includes a full-length FuelCell midsole technology that offers a responsive feel, allowing quick and efficient movement on the court for players like Murray.
The release of the “Spin Cycle” comes on the heels of the New Balance’s TWO WXY v3 ‘Jamaica’ which released on December 3, 2022 and paid homage to Murray’s father and family roots with a ‘happy yellow, black and green’ accents as nod to Jamaica’s flag.
Murray left Adidas and signed a blockbuster endorsement deal with New balance on December 2020. During the Orlando Bubble, Murray wore the Adidas Pro Models adorned with graphics of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
New Balance’s current NBA roster also includes Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers, Darius Bazley of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dejounte Murray of the San Antonio Spurs.
