Warner Bros Believes LeBron James Can Make ‘Space Jam 2’ Fly

Ahhhh…what’s up ‘Bron?!

Bugs Bunny is getting the Toon Squad back together and as Michael Jordan has retired all of three times already, who better to suit up and lead this team?

Wayne Knight!?

You kidding me? You going to let Dennis Nedry run this team? He can’t even run some shaving foam to the East Dock…but alas we’ll save ‘Jurassic Park’ for the Toronto Raptors.

It’s the King himself LeBron James who who will be flying like an eagle for the ‘Space Jam 2’ sequel now decisions have been made and his name on the script has the Warner Bros studio seal of approval.

Michael Jordan made the first 90’s hit of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ meets ‘Teen Wolf’ nostalgia a comedy classic. Now who has the charisma like him to make this follow up no sophomore slump? Kobe…nah! Besides he’s just retired too. Fact is nobody has it like Mike…maybe M.J., Magic Johnson before him. But we only have a magic ball here…not a Delorean. The nostalgia isn’t rolling all the way back to the 80’s here.

But back to the future here and it’s Showtime for LeBron James. After surprisingly stealing scenes in last years comedy classic ‘Trainwreck’…even from the unstoppable Queen of comedy Amy Schumer, the King is about to take his talents to a whole new Hollywood throne.

The Cleveland Cavaliers megastar-who has been rumoured and even Youtube parodied to be in the sequel to M.J’s live action/animation thriller since his days in South Beach with the Miami Heat-will finally break carrots with Bugs. And the Buzz can’t wait to see the limited edition Nike special colourways.

‘Fast and Furious’ director Justin Lin who last year directed Season 2 of ‘True Detective’ and is about to take ‘Star Trek’, ‘Beyond’ where anyone has boldly gone before will dry erase this play from the directors chair. And boy does this movie coach know entertainment. You all saw ‘Fast Five’ right?! I mean Vin Diesel and the dearly missed Paul Walker drove and dragged a damn safe around Rio.

Yeah…this is going to be fun!

Now as the Linsanity of Justin matched the most entertaining NBA player on the planet with the most famous basketball movie this side of ‘Hoosiers’…I’m sorry ‘Coach Carter’, everyone will be breaking their Toon Sqaud uniforms out the closet like Zach Lavine. It’s going to be number one with a Top Ten dunk.

Can you imagine the guest stars who may have their powers zapped as the martians return 20 years later like an ‘Independence Day-Resurgence’?! Maybe Kevin and Kyrie? Or Wade and Bosh. They won’t be able to even hit a free throw…wait a minute you seen Jordan recently?! We’re talking DeAndre. Oh my God…they’re already here!

Don’t worry Steph Curry there’s always ‘Space Jam 3’!

Now can someone call Bill Murray?

That’s all folks…for now!

Michael Jordan Back In The Game For NBA 2K17

He’s back!

That’s right M.J. Michael Jordan B!

OK…seriously how many times are we going to try and fool you with that one?

Michael Jordan is back in the game like EA Sports’ NBA Live 2000 for NBA 2K17. Just like when M.J. was the cover star for 2K12. But this isn’t the greatest Basketball player of all time we’re talking about. But the acclaimed actor with a government like Mike. The Jordan with a B. before his name.

The young star of the Oscar Academy worthy ‘Fruitvale Station’ and the forthcoming Marvel ‘Black Panther’ movie starring ’42’ and ‘Get On Up’ star Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, set for release in 2018’s next part is something else entirely. They do say video games gross more than video games nowadays and this isn’t the first time the lead star of the hugely successful ‘Creed’ spin-off from the ‘Rocky’ movie anthology has made the cross from cinemas to consoles as he goes from boxing to basketball, ringside to courtside.

Michael B. Jordan provided his voice for the last ‘Gears Of War’ game, but now the actor is giving more than that. Getting more up close and personal than a first person shooter, Mike B’s whole look is incorporated into the game as you can play with him or as him in the hugely popular MyCareer mode for 2K.

And just how good does his digital character look in this 2017 edition? Just as good as the NBA players themselves…if not better! Because you know some of them…erm. Glitch Alert!

This is the closest Jordan (who counts every NBA alumni from Jordan Clarkson of the Lakers to Michael Jordan’s legendary teammate Charles Oakley as close friends) has got to the NBA since playing alongside the likes of Kevin Hart and Drake for the NBA Celebrity Game during All-Star weekend over the years. But the star of ‘The Wire’ plays another character here in the C.G. form of Justice Young (here’s guessing playing Michael Jordan would be a little too on the nose), following in the digital imprint footsteps of ‘He Got Game’ legendary Spike Lee who directed the MyCareer mode for last years 2K16. This time round Michael’s ‘Creed’ co-writer and teammate Aaron Covington is on script and directing detail. Whilst anything left on the cutting room floor will be swept up by classic comedian Hannibal Burress’ iconic improv who plays a barber here.

Now the man who recently starred in Apple commercials trying to play Kobe Bryant has expressed an interest in one day taking the Kings crown to play Cleveland Cavalier champion LeBron James in a biopic, but maybe like a fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe character this Human Torch hot ‘Fantastic Four’ star could take a throne in another galaxy.

Because when it comes to ‘Space Jam 2’ who better than Michael B. Jordan?

NBA 2K17 Causing Fan ‘Friction’

NBA 2k17 Friction

Check it out.

May we divert your attention above to the featured image of this article? This has got to be one of our favourite pictures of new Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant.

Oh wait a minute…that’s not a real photo! Free Agent signing K.D. hasn’t even laced them up for the Dubs yet!

That’s an image from the forthcoming NBA 2K17 game. Available on all platforms that can handle graphics as great as this. 2K16 was sweet, but now you don’t even have to squint to see that this looks as real as it gets in the video game world. From the facial frowns to the sweat soak, as soon as 2K works out the seams of the uniforms, you won’t be able to tell the difference between the C.G.I. and the flesh and blood suiting up.

I’m sorry EA Sports, but if it wasn’t already evident, you’re no longer in the game.

Because 2K changed it…and then flipped it again like a reverse off the backboard glass.

Coming to a console near your living room soon, 2K17 just debutted a thrilling trailer as exciting as a blockbuster movie one. And for want of a better franchise it really is a Marvel in a digital day and age where video games are grossing even more than feature films…and even influencing them (see ‘Warcraft’ if you really want to sit through that…we’d prefer to wait for Michael Fassbender’s forthcoming adaptation of ‘Assassins Creed’ in cinemas though).

Sure when it comes to the court of basketball nothing beats the real thing. But then again where else can you watch fresh moves from Kobe Bryant-no hardwood history highlight reel-now number 24 has hung up the purple and gold to the awaiting rafters? In this legend edition with the Laker great on the cover (complete with signature Mamba black controls and trading cards for the old school head, original gamers), you can even rock his gear all the way to the 8 throwback. And match-up with his and everybodies idol, Michael Jordan. G.O.A.T. for greatest of all-time.

Olympic Gold Medalist for Team USA Paul George takes the standard cover like he does all the first names, but there’s nothing regular about this as the trailer can attest like Ron minus the ‘R’. The attention to detail is thread for weave flawless. From the Pacer blimp to the 50 year Indiana anniversary jersey detail, as homaged as last years Hickory. You can even catch a blast of the Boomer the Panther mascot, shotgunning apparel tee’d up into the crowd.

From the MVP to the champ the most impressive looking player may just be Los Angeles Lakers sophomore stud D’Angelo Russell. One moment in the trailer with fire breathed into it by an Imagine Dragons hit off the Las Vegas casino rockers sophomore set ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ is as neon vivid as your most inspired imagination could handle. All the way down to his trademark “ice in my veins” arm-tap celebration. It’s the coldest.

The virtual world has just hit a whole new reality.

This ‘Friction’ trailer is really creating heat.

You can’t fight it!

Jay Williams’ ‘Life Is Not An Accident’ Memoir Reinvents The Game

What could have been.

It’s the NBA’s multi-million dollar question. And there’s plenty to go round. What if Portland drafted Jordan instead of Sam Bowie? What if Charlotte kept Kobe? What if LeBron made a different decision?

Those “what ifs” that we should just let go and in hindsight not dwell on, but from water coolers to barbershops we always do.

What if Jay Williams didn’t get hurt?

The Duke legend and Coach K standout looked set to be the next great Jason Kidd Point Guard of the NBA back in the new milleniuum like Deron Williams and Chris Paul alongside him. Not only that the number 22 looked set to follow in the sneaker steps of the man above him, number 23 in Chicago. Becoming the rebirth of the Baby Bulls team, giving the city and club their first real star powered, franchise face future since the one they called Mike (peep the book cover art of Jay paying homage to Jordan’s classic, artistic, basketball to contemplative forehead, sat down pose. Albeit with the scar on his leg that marked his career).

But it all came crashing down after an all too tragic motorcycle accident that almost took Jay Williams life took his career from him.

But they say in this life there are no accidents.

And that’s the overriding message in the ball player turned basketball broadcaster Jay Williams new moving memoir, ‘Life Is Not Accident-A Memoir Of Reinvention’. The man’s amazing autobiography that details his life before and after his accident. Focusing on his devil of a hoops career at Duke and his graduation to a top draft day pick and his charge with Chicago.

There’s a lot of beautiful memories here for nostalgias sake and some locker room and behind the basket stories for leather and seam aficinados. His opening paragraph picturing his view of Lake Michigan from a Chicago penthouse is as eloquent as it is evocative. But the real heart of this book lies in the teachings from a tortured soul about how to live life with responsibility before the irreversible happens. From saving your money to cherishing your success as well as relishing in it.

Williams also takes us through a step by step guide to his post NBA career from the dirty game of sports agencies to the more honest one of his humbling broadcasting tenure that sees him today as a regular and fondly sought after halftime show reporter. Jay’s book is perfect for rookies and veterans alike. Showing how to navigate life and basketball business the right way from draft to retirement. How to learn from your mistakes and from the lessons of those that have come before you so young ballers can get the best out of their lives, before, during and after their playing days.

But in this bittersweet book that is the most inspiring off court, sideline scribe since the late, great Stuart Scott’s moving memoir ‘Everyday I Fight’, Jay laments heartbreak and regret from dark depression to raw redemption. But just look and you will see that the legacy of this legend extends to more than just the hardwood and hard times.

It’s clear to read all he’s achieved.

If you happen to stumble on this book, make sure it’s no accident.
