Buffalo, New York – Canadian Dyshawn Pierre helped the No. 11 Dayton Flyers kick-off the 2014 NCAA March Madness tournament with a bang as the No. 11 Dayton Flyers upset the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes 60-59 on a game-winning shot by Dayton’s senior guard Vee Sanford.

In and exciting back and forth affair that featured over 14 lead changes it was Pierre’s cool and calm demeanor that matter most as Dayton found themselves trailing 57-55 with the shot clock winding down the ball was swung to the sophomore wing didn’t hesitate outing the shot and was fouled behind the arc with 26 seconds left on the clock.

The Canadian Jr. National team member walked up to line and calmly buried all three clutch three-throws to give the Flyers a much deserved 59-57 lead and while setting-up the late game heroics and game winning shot for Dayton.

The Whitby, Ontario (Anderson High School) native cap off a perfect shooting game with 12 points, on 2/2 field goals, 1/1 3-pointers, 7/7 free-throws and added eight rebounds and two assists in the process.

The Flyers advance to third-round of the 2014 NCAA March Madness tournament and will play the No. 3 Syracuse Orange and freshman sensation Tyler Ennis.
