Canadian Anthony Bennett wasted no time putting his name in the Freshmen of the Year race by opening his NCAA Basketball career with a game-high 22 points in 20 minutes.
Bennett’s first official collegiate points came via his patent two hand gorilla dunk as he scored 9 straight in the opening minutes and was outscoring the Lumberjacks 9-5 up until the first timeout.
The Runnin’ Rebels cruised past the Northern Arizona LumberJacks 92-54 never trailing thanks to Bennett’s efforts, as the smooth big man who is projected as NBA pick, potentially a one and done player shot 9-for-13 from the floor, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
