Declaring For The Draft Ben Simmons Writes The Next Chapter In His Book Of Basketball

As one chapter ends…another begins.

It sounds like a cliche we know but this kid Ben Simmons could go number one. After a one and done season with LSU where this Tiger clawed away at averages just a shade under 20 and 10, to go with 5 assists, this 6 foot 10 prospect has put his name forward for this Summers NBA Draft.

The cap will most certainly fit for one of the youngest talents around the hoops world…some are calling Simmons the most exciting young draftee to be since some King called LeBron. But like James in any free agency period, which throne will Simmons’ multi-faceted and talented play sit on in this game?

From the madness of march to the hands of Silver where could Ben fit the bill?

Any team will want him. From the Cavaliers to the Warriors…even if scouting reports are leaving off the fact that this freshmans game has little outside like rooftop apartment gardens…but all that can bloom and develop. Put it this way he has the height and inside to be a paint power by the dunk in a small ball revolutionised league, with the athleticism to run and go with guys like Durant and…well his teammate Westbrook. Everybody wants this kid.

Let the tanking commence.

Some teams won’t even have to

The lowly Sixers could use another top pick like they where the new Cavaliers. They have more big fellas than Shaq has nicknames, but this young petroleum from Diesel’s old alma-mater could power them across the floor and not just in the key if handed the reigns. Speaking of alumnus, could Ben Simmons still play in purple and gold now he has he left the halls of LSU? This years number 2 pick D’Angelo Russell would love his former Montverde Academy high school running mate to join him in Lakerland with the new Showtime of Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle. This fantastic four would be a marvel that could even make the Los Angeles Lakers almost get over the loss of retiring legend Kobe Bryant. With Russell’s athletic and ice in his veins, could Simmons bleed purple and gold too?

The possibilites are 30 teams for 30 deals endless. The purple and gold Tiger blood could make history with another storied team in the Boston Celtics and be the big young talent they tragically lost on the 80’s draft night with Len Bias…playing for his honour. The Knicks could be in play for someone to join their young New York, New York future of Kristaps Porzingis world domination. Especially if Carmelo Anthony really has had enough. One way or another Simmons could change everything.

We can only speculate like so many will we dont have an idea of how its going to go down. All we know is his time is now.

Like analyst Bill Simmons, Ben Simmons is about to rewrite the next edition of his own book of basketball.

It could be storied.
