The Suns set on Kevin Durant’s time in Brooklyn

The rising Phoenix Suns are set to scorch nets around the league now that they’ve bagged Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant.

If you thought that the Lakers and Timberwolves dealing a couple of Russell’s (Westbrook and D’Angelo) was a blockbuster. Then just you wait for the main feature presentation.

Before the buzzer of the trade deadline, the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns have just pulled off a monster.

In the B.K., like Jay-Z said, it was all good just a week ago. Even with coach Steve Nash gone, the Nets were scorching. But now a new Sun rise has set all that adrift.

First, to start the week, Kyrie Irving was traded to one of Nash’s former teams, the Dallas Mavericks. And now Kevin Durant is a Sun.

You can barely believe your burner phones.

Damn!

Book, CP3 and KD?! A line-up of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul AND big Deandre Ayton almost guarantees a championship. The buck and all other teams stop here.

Sure, Phoenix gave up Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and FOUR first-round draft picks that will keep Brooklyn netting the lottery until 2028. But would you not give up the bag for Durant?

It’s small potatoes. Especially as the best of this selection. A disgruntled Jae Crowder, didn’t even play at all this season.

Shades of Ben Simmons? A player who will have to shoot now that it’s just him, Patty Mills, a returning Spencer Dinwiddie and Yuta ‘the shooter’ Watanabe. This new year, the Nets were looking as good as their Basquiat jerseys. Now Brooklyn’s court canvas looks like a Jackson Pollock.

Just to think, Kevin spent the best half of last week successfully recruiting prize WNBA free-agent Breanna Stewart to New York.

Phoenix also gets T.J. Warren in the deal. And if you remember his rise in the bubble, you will see that he could make for a simmering sixth man to this superstar team.

Raising Arizona, four fantastic players are about to stretch the playoff brackets along with the odds in their favour. All behind the long arms of the slim reaper, Kevin Durant.

The competition outside the desert is drying up.
