Fourth-Year Forward Terrell Evans (Las Vegas, NV) tipped in a Ryan Mackinnon missed jumper at the buzzer to lift the Victoria Vikes 90-88 over the Calgary Dinos.

The hard-fought victory gives the Vikes a 2-1 series win and berth in the upcoming 2012 Canada West Final Four.

Fifth-year senior Ryan Mackinnon had a game-high 33 points and 8 rebounds. Michael Acheampong broke out of his playoff slump by adding 18 huge points. Mike Berg added 14 points and Evans capped off the double-digit scorers with 12 points and none bigger than his final two points.

Tyler Fidler was outstanding in his last CIS Basketball game with 30 points including a gorgeous move to tie the game at 88-88 with 15 seconds left.

Boris Bakovic struggle for much of the afternoon and scored 8 of his 14 final CIS career points in the fourth quarter and hit a huge contested three-pointer to give Calgary their last lead of the game at 86-85.

Bakovic ends his career as the CIS’s All-time leading scorer with a total of 2319 points.

Victoria will now travel to Saskatchewan where it will face the #2 Fraser Valley Cascades in the Semi-finals of the conference championship. The other game will feature a heavy weight clash, as the first-time hosts Saskatchewan Huskies take on the Alberta Golden Bears.
