Sophomore guard Vincent Dufort scored 13 of his game-high 25 points in a decisive fourth quarter to help the McGill Redmen stay unbeaten with a 69-68 victory over the Concordia Stingers.
Dufort (6’5, Smiths Falls, ON) also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and shot 12-of-18 from the floor.
Jerome Blake turned in 20 points for the Stingers and much improved Kafil Eyitayo added a double-double and finished 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Redmen shot a healthy 29-of-61 for 47.5% while Concordia struggled to connect on only 22-of-65 shots for 33.8%
The victory gives Mcgill (3-1) a one-game lead in the race for the top team in RSEQ. Concordia drops to 3-1. The two teams will face each in the opening game of the second semester.
