Ding, ding! You’ve got to love another round.
It’s the second chance saloon in the wild, wild west for the Los Angeles Lakers who hope that it won’t just be Kobe Bryant who will have an epic return to form this year.
With the long rumoured former player and mamba teammate Byron Scott as certain a new Laker coach as Kevin Love is sure of taking a bus from Minneapolis it all looks to be showtime once again. The man who finished Magic Johnsons fast breaks with an emphatic dunk, looks to now start them from the dry erase for the most exciting and prime time famous point since Earvin, the Linsanity of Jeremy Lin.
Now to add to the Laker flags wind of change that began this Summer season with the drafting of Julius Randle it looks like another Laker Hall Of Fame guard will take to the sideline and we aren’t talking about the great Canadian Steve Nash who vows to play on. Kobe, Shaq and Karl Malone’s fantastic four teammate and former Seattle Supersonics legend Gary Payton is rumoured to join Scott’s coaching staff. If so another one of Kobe’s court circle of friends will bring more than his name to the franchise.
Along with a another top ten point of all time the defensive glove Gary could help mentor and mould Lin in to the great point guard all the Linsane hype set him up to be. Not to mention help show Nick Young the walk and substance behind the talk and swag This would be crucial in quarterbacking the Lakers post-Kobe looming future like all-star Carlos Boozer tutoring rookie big man Julius Randle.
Talk trash now, but it looks like the gloves are back on for the Lakers.
Seconds out…
