University of Florida guard Andrew Nembhard (Aurora, Ont.), has declared for the NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore averaged 11.2 points, 5.6 assists and three rebounds per game for the Gators this past season, which saw NCAA March Madness cancelled due to COVID-19.

Nembhard has hired an NCAA-certified agent and can still return to school for his junior season.

He also declared for the NBA Draft in 2019 but pulled out after not being invited to the NBA scouting combine.

Nembhard has been a key player in the Canada Basketball development system and starred alongside high school teammate and eventual No. 3 overall pick R.J. Barrett (Mississauga, Ont.) at Florida’s Montverde Academy.

His 2.2 assist-to-turnover ration led the SEC this past season.

It’s expected Georgia guard Anthony Edwards, international transfer LaMelo Ball and Memphis centre James Wiseman will jockey for the top three spots in the draft.

Nembhard is ranked No. 92 on NBADraft.net‘s preliminary list of Top 100 prospects.
