Top 10 Performers: 2011-12 BasketballBuzz CIS Men’s Basketball Week 4

The fourth edition of the 2011-12 CIS Men’s Basketball Top 10 Performers is loaded with exceptional guard play, as expected we have some new editions and some familiar faces.

Justin King – Thompson Rivers Wolfpack – CW
If the Wolfpack continue to win ball games there will be no doubt in King’s All-Canadian status.

Nov 25. vs. Brandon Bobcats W, 91-84: 36 Points (16/22 FG, 1/2 3FG, 3/3 FT) 7 rebounds, 3 steals
Nov 26. vs. Regina Cougars W, 110-100: 35 Points (13/23 FG, 0/1 3FG, 9/9 FT) 11 rebounds, 5 assist, 4 steals

Donathan Moss – UPEI Panthers – AUS
Moss picked a good weekend to have his best games of the year. The CCAA Holland College transfer can score in bunches and is not afraid to attack the rim.

Nov 25. vs. Acadia Axemen W, 98-89: 27 Points (8/16 FG, 1/4 3FG, 10/13 FT) 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
Nov 26. vs. Acadia Axemen W, 67-64: 21 Points (7/14 FG, 2/5 3FG, 5/10 FT) 10 rebounds, 2 assists

Jimmy Dorsey  – Cape Breton Capers – AUS
Another strong week from the Capers usually means big numbers from Jimmy Dorsey. Did he really put of up 27 shots?

Nov 25. vs. UNB Varsity Reds W, 76-71: 18 Points (5/27 FG, 1/10 3FG, 7/8 FT) 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals
Nov 26. vs. UNB Varsity Reds W, 82-54: 19 Points (6/16 FG, 1/4 3FG, 6/7 FT) 12 rebounds, 4 assists

Jamelle Barrett – Saskatchewan Huskies – CW
Barrett makes his first appearance in the Top 10 with his best showing so far. Needs to cut down on the turnovers (7 per game) second-worst in the nation.

Nov 25. vs. Fraser Valley Cascades W, 104-95 OT: 30 Points (10/18 FG, 3/8 3FG, 7/11 FT) 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals
Nov 26. vs. Trinity Western Spartans W, 98-73: 23 Points (9/16 FG, 3/5 3FG, 2/5 FT) 6  assists, 2 steals

Terry Thomas – St. FX – CW
Next, to Justin King, Terry Thomas has been the most electrifying player in the country. Lookout below.

Nov 26. vs. Dalhousie Tigers W, 81-78: 24 Points (8/19 FG, 2/5 3FG, 6/6 FT) 11 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 assists, 2 blocks

Andrew Kraus  – Brock Badgers – OUA
Kraus orchestrated a triple-double and grabbed a total of 24 rebounds for Badgers in two victories.

Nov 25. vs. RMC Paladins W, 101-51: 10 Points (4/9 FG, 2/5 3FG) 11 rebounds, 10 assists
Nov 26. vs. Queen’s Golden Gaels W, 69-60: 10 Points (7/14 FG, 2/5 3FG, 5/10 FT) 13 rebounds, 5 assists

Kale Harrison – Laurier Golden Hawks – OUA
Harrison showed more aggression and had his best overall weekend of the young season.

Nov 25. vs. Laurentian Voyageurs W, 98-78: 30 Points (14/19 FG, 2/5 3FG) 11 rebounds, 10 assists
Nov 26. vs. York Lions W, 102-62 : 21 Points (8/17 FG, 3/5 3FG, 1/10 FT) 8 rebounds, 2 assists

Kyle Enright – Laurier Golden Hawks – OUA
First game, 19 points in 17 minutes, 4-of-5 from deep. Second game 21 points in 18 minutes, 6-of-9 from deep. Absolutely deadly sniper who is shooting a league best 63% (26-41) from deep.

Nov 25. vs. Laurentian Voyageurs, 98-77: 19 Points (4/6 FG, 4/5 3FG, 7/8 FT) 2 rebounds
Nov 26. vs. York Lions W, 102-62: 21 Points (6/9 FG, 6/9 3FG, 3/3 FT)

Chad Kok – Thompson Rivers Wolfpack – CW West
Nice bounce-back performance for Kok. Top rebounder of the week with 22 big ones on the glass.

Nov 25. vs. Brandon Bobcats W, 91-84: 22 Points (8/19 FG, 2/5 3FG, 4/5 FT) 14 rebounds, 2 assists
Nov 26. vs. Regina Cougars W, 110-100: 22 Points (7/13 FG, 1/4 3FG, 7/11 FT) 8 rebounds, 5 assist

Tyler Fidler – Calgary Dinos – CW
Fidler hit a picture perfect turn around jumper in the clutch against UBC. Has the Bargnani rebounding syndrome though.

Warren Ward – Ottawa Gee-Gees – OUA
The Gee-Gees rely so much on him that he can easily have his name here every week. In fact he should.

Nov 25. vs. Lakehead Thunderwolves, L, 72-78: 16 points (6/18 FG, 1/3 3FG, 3/4 FT) 6 rebounds, 6 assists 4 steals
Nov 26. vs. Guelph Gryphons, W, 83-77: 28 Points (10/19 FG, 2/4 3FG, 6/7 FT) 8 rebounds, 2 assists

Extra Extra Love:
Akeem Pierre | #09 | G | Thompson Rivers
We just couldn’t justify having three Wolfpack players in the Top 10. Pierre’s near triple-double caught our eyes, 15 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists in a win over Regina.
