A month deep in the 2022 CEBL season and the action keeps on improving. The games are increasingly tighter and the star players continue to find a way to outperform the competition.

This 2022 Father’s Day edition of the weekly top ten performers features familiar names who have distinguished themselves from the opposition with multiple appearances.

We also highlight three new players, a potential dunk of the year candidate, a near triple double and father doing it on and off the court.

Shane Gibson – Fraser Valley Bandits

Shane Gibson has been firing on all cylinders over the past six games to put his name in the running for 2022 CEBL MVP. Two top-notch performances against two of the toughest teams in the league.

Gibson leads the Bandits in scoring with 17.4 points per game on 48.1% field goal, 38.5% three-pointers, a league leading 93.8 free-throw shooting splits.

Walt Lemon Jr. – Ottawa Blackjacks

Two things have kept Walt Lemon Jr. off of the weekly top ten list. Winning and turnovers.

The Ottawa Blackjacks lead the CEBL with an inexcusable 18.1 turnovers per game. What’s worse, nearly half of the mistakes are coming from their two prized off-season acquisitions of Lemon Jr. (4.3) and Deng Adel (4.4).

Although, the Blackjacks dropped to a head scratching 1-7, it was hard to ignore Lemon Jr.’s desire to help write the ship in the Nation’s Capital.
