Los Angeles Clippers Canadian rookie Mfiondu Kabengele wasted no time reminding NBA GM’s that he should have been selected a lot higher than the 27th pick of the of the 2019 NBA Draft.
Kabengele dropped a strong and efficient 21-point, 10 rebound double-double in the Clippers 93-87 NBA summer League debut against the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas.
The Burlington, Ontario native and shot an efficient 7-of-14 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the foul line and knocked 1-of-4 triples.
Kabengele’s outstanding game currently ranks at best game thus far by a Canadian at 2019 NBA Summer League — where a record number of Canadians are invading Las Vegas.
Marial Shayok also had an outstanding NBA summer league debut with 19 points.
Kabengele will now be the only Canadian with the Clippers after the departure of first-team all rookie point Shai Gilegous-Alexander to the OKC thunder as part of the blockbuster deal that brought Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the Clippers.
