Mississauga Ontario native Nik Stauskas was selected eight overall by the Sacramento Kings. The 2014 Big Ten player of the year was the first pure shooting guard taken in the draft. In two successful seasons with the Michigan Wolverines, Stauskas went from a relatively unknown and shooter only prospect to being a 2014 NBA Draft lottery pick.
The 2014 Big Ten Player of the year started a total of 36 games and averaged 17.5 points in sophomore campaign.
