Gary Payton Hands The Glove Down To His Son II

Gary Payton II NBA Great Gary Payton

Patrick Ewing, Tim Hardaway, Glen Rice…even Larry Nance Jr. A lot of NBA greats have son namesakes making the back of their jersey their own in this game. But one who has the Glove handed down to him is really holding court.

Gary Payton II.

It sounds like a sequel. But don’t call it a sophomore slump. The freshest man is going to be here for years. Think of it as a reboot in this superhero, blockbuster age of ultra.

Gary Payton was one of the greatest guards of all-time and now he’s passing his point on to his next generation. The former Seattle Supersonics legend who won a ring with the Miami Heat and also logged time with the storied Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics during his classic career. The defensive dog could even hold down the G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan.

Now that’s a Glove that fits.

But his ever rising son may just grow out of it. The 23, 6-foot-3, P.G. G.P.2 can knock on more than wood. More like glass as this Oregon State Beaver can chip, clean and swipe a dunk.

Now Oregon is for basketball lovers again as this guy is ripping it like Damian Lillard is keeping the PDX of Portland as much as a wonder as the city of roses is weird.

As vibrant as the orange this man wears Gary Payton Jr. is second to none. At sonic speeds he’s like an athletic upgrade of pops. Albeit with that defensive pedigree in his hands. He can still hound your dog like Elvis Presley. That’s what two-time Pac 12 Defensive Player Of The Year awards honour you with. Certification.

Way to hold up the family name. First and foremost.

Shaq’s son. King James’ young prince. These kids alright, they are all doing it. It’s like a court creche out there making everyone else look like dummies.

Like father, like Glove…you have to love pop and son stories. It’s what this game was built on from the backyard one-on-ones that show whose got game and whose got good genes.

The senior from the bald domed M.J. era couldn’t be prouder of the reputation his Iverson inked son is tattooing in the NCAA right now. And with a rolodex game of 15.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2 and a half steals per game it won’t be long before the NBA calls.

Elfrid who? Now it wont be long before the league welcomes young Gary Payton too.
