UPEI Panthers cruise past Axemen at 2011 Rod Shoveller Memorial opener

The UPEI Panthers got off to a fast start and never looked back, defeating the Acadia Axemen 78-64 in the opener of the 21st Annual Rod Shoveller Memorial Tournament.

All-Canadian candidate Manock Lual (Ottawa, Ont.) put on an impressive display of inside/outside basketball and led the Panthers in scoring.

The Panthers have now defeated the Axemen three-straight times and will now face the winner of St.FX and Ottawa Gee-Gees in the tournament semi-final.
