Class of 2012 standout Khem Birch (6-9, Notre Dame Prep) was recently named the International MVP of the prestigious 2010 Nike Global Challenge.
In three games against some of the best young talent globally, Birch simply dominated the competition and finished the tournament with some incredible stats.
22.6 points per game, 13 rebounds and 70% percent field goal
Numbers aside, Birch’s performance helped Team Canada finish the 2010 Nike Global Challenge with an outstanding record of 2-1.
Canada defeated USA East 105-100 which Birch exploded for a monstrous double-double of 25 points and 20 rebounds.
The following game resulted in disappointing fashion as Canada lost 113-99 to a stacked USA South squad.
Team Canada fought back to earn a bronze medal in a 85-75 victory against team INSEP of France.
The three-day tournament featured some of the top talent across the world. Teams came from Canada, France, Brazil and various corners of the USA. However, prior to the start of the tournament, a previously scheduled Nigerian team was forced to cancel their participation due to Visa procedures.
