2014 6-7 wing Marial Shayok (Blair Academy/NJ via St. Patrick’s High School) has committed to Tony Clement of the Virginia Cavaliers.

Shayok one of the top Canadian prospects in the class of 2014 had originally committed to the Marquette Golden Eagles but was forced to find another school after former Head Coach Buzz Williams left the program, accepting a job with Virginia Tech and leaving the former St.Patrick’s Irish standout to reevaluate his options and his recruiting.

Shayok, the son a former Dayton Fyler player Makur Shayok (1990-92) recently participated in the 2014 Jordan Brand Classic Regional game which features the top high school prospects from the New York area. The 6-7 wing scored 12 points for Team Black and displayed his improved jump shot and slashing abilities.

The Cavaliers made a surprise return to the the NCAA National spotlight by winning the Atlantic Coast Conference with an impressive 16-2 conference record and advancing to sweet 16.
