Lethbridge Pronghorns Shock Undefeated UBC Thunderbirds

Morgan Duce paced five Pronghorns players in double figures with 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown as the Lethbridge Pronghorns upset the previously undefeated UBC Thunderbirds 90-80 on Friday night.

The Pronghorns defense was instrumental in the victory, holding the country’s number one ranked offence scoreless for the last 4:32 minutes of the game.

Pronghorns Dominyc Coward (Airdrie, AB) tied a game-high 9 rebounds and also put in 14 points.

Lethbridge continues to be one the surprise teams in the Canada West conference and now improve their record to 4-3 and snaps a two game losing streak.

The Thunderbirds got a game-high 36 points from Nathan Yu, and Doug Plumb was the the only other UBC player to reach double digits with 10 points.

UBC (4-1) drops their first game of campaign and will travel to Calgary to face a banged up Dinos squad.
