TSN2 to broadcast 2010 FIBA World Championship

It looks like TSN has taken yet another semi-major sports property from The Score, this time its rights to Canadian men’s basketball team games.

TSN2 will air coverage of Canada’s five round robin games at the upcoming 2010 FIBA World Championships, as well as the semi final and final. It is possible that they could add in a quarter-final should Canada play in one.

While some of the top players in the world won’t be at the event, many top players (especially from Europe) will be and a US team that doesn’t have Kobe Bryant, Lebron James or Dwyane Wade is still one of the favourites to win the tournament.

TSN2 2010 FIBA World Championships schedule

Saturday 8/28, 11:30am – Canada vs. Lebanon
Sunday 8/29, 9:00am – Canada vs. Lithuania
Tuesday 8/31, 11:30am – Canada vs. France
Wednesday 9/1, 9:00am – Canada vs. New Zealand
Saturday 9/11, 6:00pm – Semi Final
Sunday 9/12, 6:00pm – World Championship Final
