Buck!
Just when we where about to draw up an article, rating the Milwaukee Bucks Bradley Centre as the classiest court design in the association for its classic parquet and white lines, it seems like the vintage, favourite arena is about to face Miley Cyrus.
And we aren’t talking about no gig.
A wrecking ball looks to come in and swing, bringing on a new $500 million, state of the art arena. With all Buckeyes on it like Ohio State, the franchise home looks to be steered in a new direction. One set to revolutionize that area and district of shopping and entertainment. Think, like the Nokia Live being built across from the Lakers/Clippers STAPLES, bringing life back to downtown Los Angeles.
Designed by the folks that brought you New York’s Yankee Stadium and London England’s legendary Wembley Arena this could just be the ticket. The beautifully Bradley Centre may have stood here since 1988-even older than the big-three of Glenn Robinson, Sam Cassell and Ray Allen-but its about to make way for 30 acres of space. Space that will allow this Wisconsin city to “live, work and play” according to its developers.
2 years is the banner cutting, champagne glass smashing goal for this space for retail outlets, restaurants, hotel chains, entertainment complexes and so much more. Plus Jabari Parker will probably be a new NBA superstar by then worthy of a new home (but hopefully not team) if he’s not still injured. As for this cool court design we’ve got two seasons left to enjoy, maybe Milwaukee should get internet tech savvy designer Chris Creamer on the end of the line and the signature strip of a blank check.
Still for beloved Bradley the buck stops in 2017.
